Over 25% of the Bible is descriptive of the end times. Jesus gave His disciples the signs, simultaneously telling them to keep watch. In this section, we’ll look at headlines that are Biblical signs of the end times, not to predict the day or the hour, but to be watchful as Jesus commanded.
Did you hear that the Pentagon released new information about UFOs on January 12th? Read New UFO report shows hundreds more incidents than previously thought – ABC News (go.com) and UFO sightings on the rise – Pentagon — RT World News for the details. In summary, the Pentagon says that there have been at least 366 UFO sightings in the past two years, far more than they thought.
There are plenty of theories on why we are suddenly hearing about UFOs from government and military officials. Some believe these are alien spacecrafts. Others say they are just trying to scare us into believing there are aliens out there. Some spiritualize that to say that the alien invasion will be the excuse given for the rapture of the church. Whatever your perspective is, the Source of Truth is God’s Word. What does God have to say about such things?
While answering His disciples questions about the signs of His second coming, Jesus said, “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars,” (Luke 21:25 ESV).
I found a total of 16 references to unusual astronomical signs in the last days. The one in Mark 13:24-25 piqued my interest.
“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.” (ESV)
What exactly are these powers of the heavens that will be shaken? In Ephesians 6:12, Paul wrote that our struggle is against cosmic powers in the heavenly realms, among others. There are many spiritual forces, some good and some evil. Could these unidentified flying objects be spiritual beings?
In Revelation 9 we learn of some star falling from heaven and opening the bottomless pit. Very odd-looking vicious locusts come from the pit to torment people. Revelation 12:7-13 tells of a day when Michael and his angels will cast the dragon/Satan to the earth. Some believe that these passages are describing demonic beings. Some even believe that the UFOs being reported are evidence of the beginnings of the fulfillment of these prophecies. To explore this further, view some of these:

I don’t know what the UFOs really are, but given the many Biblical passages about signs in the skies, spiritual enemies in the heavenly realms and coming deception on the earth, I believe these Pentagon reports are a sign that we are approaching the end times.
